I've owned this for the past 15 years, and its a bit of a reluctant sale as I know I’ll probably never come across another - so listing it quickly before I change my mind!

It’s a simple, step-in style with wrap over bodice with toes that go through like a ballet cardigan with handfinished opening.

Very wide legs, which are just at ankle length on me (which I always found preferable as they haven’t dragged, or spoiled at the hem. No hem allowance.)

Its edged in red silk which is hand finished. It’s a slightly brighter red than that in the stripe, I assume it’s original - at the very least it’s of some considerable age, and can only be washed cool with vinegar as when dabbed in white cotton has a propensity to colour run.

Its a very figure flattering outfit, and a great print!

Measures:

Approx UK 10 to slim hipped 12 - or would fit smaller of course. Mannequin is 6/8 UK, and it’s unclipped.

Bust 36/38” max (wrap style can accommodate a little extra cup room, no more than a 36 band though)

bodice shoulder to waist is 15”

waist as small as you like, comfortably up to 28” when fastened to look correct.

The top of waistband where it joins trousers is absolute max 38 - so your hips can’t be any bigger than this for access, as step in style.

waist to hem down side seam of trouser 33”

actual hip measurement 44”

front rise 13”

circ of trouser leg at hem 46”

shoulder to hem the length is approx 48”

Condition: Very good. When I first bought it the waist seam had come undone and my overzealous seamstress both restitched and then overlocked the waist seam to reinforce without asking me! It is unseen and secure, however - I've photographed. The other seams are all either french or plain and not overlocked.

The shoulder seams are fresh style, don’t think that they’ve been shortened? I’ve got a relatively long torso (50s dresses always short waisted on me!) and this was fine. See pics.

Some faint whitening just next to underarms.

I only wore it on a handful of occasions - it’s freshly cleaned and ready to wear.
