Original fashion dress designs from 1940s bridal salon - plus sign and photograph
A wonderful snapshot in time! Purchased in the USA years ago, I am only selling as I think it’s a shame for me to have kept this in a box for so long.
From a 1940s bridal shop/seamstress ‘Andrene’ (or Ann’drene, as she has entitled her collection!)
The card covered and sign written album features a collection of 19 separately illustrated designs for both wedding and formal (going away outfits, I’m guessing) designs, for the clients to choose from. Many of them have suggested fabrics with the design. The shoulders and peplums really are fabulous, and some of the wedding dresses really are very imaginative.
In the front cover you can see an example of her completed work as a wedding dress, modelled in a black and photograph. I also have the sign-written card used in her salon to include, as seen in the background of the photograph.
Album is a little shorter than A4 in size. I will measure shortly in case you need specifics.
Good. Stored carefully by me for years, and previous owner before that! The sign just has a faint age spot as shown but still displays well.
