c.1910s vintage hat with ribbon trim and leather corsage
I think this may have been used in a costume dept. as some sticker/label evidence visible internally. It does, however, look to me to be fairly original.
Designed to be worn over a more voluminous Gibson girl style hair, it seems a bit big on my hairless mannequin!
The ribbon and it’s appliqué are rather pretty - see close up - and the hat is worth it for the leather ‘corsage’ type trim alone.
It’s in reasonably good condition and could be worn - I have steamed it, and assume it have returned to approximately the right shape as appears to have been stored for some time.
Inner brim circumference approx 24”
