vintage Art Deco French boudoir doll case trimmed with lamé lace - in stocking box
I really like it when things appear like a bit of a time capsule, as they've clearly been packed away and lain untouched for decades. This is one of those objects, as someone has lovely packed it in the (contemporary) stocking box and I don't think it has been removed for many many years!
A cobalt blue velvet lined in a blue satin deco weave and edged in gold braid, this little case features what I believe to be on one of the boudoir doll faces that were made in France. She's beautifully attired with a gold lamé cap, and chiffon scarf. I also particularly like her strawberry blonde hair!
I shall include the Slimtex box she has been residing in, but not the very elderly tissue paper unless you particularly want it...
approx 8 1/2" x 7"
As you can see there is some age spotting to the fabric, and pressure marks to the velvet. The doll is still very colourful due to being stored away from light. I don’t think her nose is squashed, just that she’s constructed that way a bit please study all photos for condition. I think it would still display beautifully despite the foxing!
Please note, I will always combine postage where possible and refund any overages. Please ask if you’re unsure.
Postage to the US has increased recently so apologies for the high price! I send everything tracked, and will send your reference once your order has been posted - along with any refunds owed.
