Vintage c.1960s cotton drill red and white pinstriped artist’s or fisherman’s smock top
I have an embarrassment of fisherman’s smocks, so this one needs to go as I don’t think I’ve even worn it because I’ve been too busy wearing all the ancient blue ones I have on rotation.
Such a useful thing, with front apron style pockets. Boxy cut with wide funnel neckline. Label has faded so much as to be illegible, but clearly commercially made. It’s a light to mid weight cotton drill.
Measures: shown unclipped on U.K. 8 mannequin, it sounds bigger than it is.
Small spot as shown, have washed but not tried to treat particularly. Small pull to stitching at shoulder. I think it’s possibly been shortened at the hemline, but if so it’s been well done? See photos. A good sixties length!
