FAQ's
Shipping:
I ship from Lincoln, U.K. The website is set up to calculate by weight and combine the shipping. If you require a specific service, or the combined amount doesn't seem quite right, please do just contact me and I can check and adjust to the best rate for you! I refund overages of £1 and above.
I currently do not automatically ship worldwide but am happy to do so, just contact me: afternumbernine@gmail.com
Condition:
I know buying vintage from the internet can be tricky (I have bought A LOT) so I do attempt to give pretty thorough condition reports.
You are always more than welcome to ask for any further details and photos, or item specifics I have not included.
Cleaning:
If an item is suitable for cleaning I usually will, and it will be stated in the listing when it has been recently cleaned. Some older textiles, or generally those that would be damaged by cleaning, will be sold as found - again stated.
Do feel free to ask if you require guidance on caring for your purchase, as I'm happy to help if I'm able.
Layaway/Payments by Installment:
I am happy to offer layaway on items over £50. I usually ask for a minimum of 10% deposit up front, and then a maximum of three further instalments to be paid monthly (or sooner if you wish) on agreed dates. Paypal invoicing seems to be the simplest way, but I can work with you on the best method. Please do get in touch if you would like to arrange payment for items this way.
ABOUT ME
A little bit about me...

I've been collecting, wearing, buying and selling vintage clothing since the mid 90s, and my incessant addiction to vintage 'shopping'  - coupled with a terrible reluctance to part with things quickly - does mean that I have amassed quite a stash of good stuff! I've been selling vintage clothing online with my previous website 'tastyvintage' since 2005, and prior to that on eBay as 'hattysattic'.

I do like helping out costume buyers too..  I tend to list mainly ladieswear more frequently so don't (or rather try not to!) hold as much stock of that as I used to, but I do have boxes of vintage menswear, childrenswear, maternity wear, linens, ephemera, haberdashery, packaging etc that I've amassed over the years.. not that I'm a hoarder!

For the past decade I have sold in 'person' through my bricks and mortar shop at 9 Steep Hill, Lincoln.. and from my previous shop premises for a few years before that, as well as at fairs and festivals. I was a teenager when I first 'stood' with my own stall in Glastonbury's green fields aged 17.

The shop at No.9 has now closed to the public - but hopefully this will be a way to keep doing what I love. Thank you to all of my wonderful established customers who've shared my passion over the last however-long-I've-been-doing-this, both online and in person.
