custom made rue la Boétie ‘Noël’ Paris 1950s golden green lamé bombshell evening dress or gown
No labels, but the hanger tabs at the waist are for ‘Noël’ of 90 Rue de Boétie, Paris - good street address being the home of Worth, amongst other illustrious neighbours. Noël was apparently a purveyor of fancy fabrics, particularly lace tulle etc. - no idea who is made the dress up but finish is nice with hand set zipper etc.
I’d say late 1950s into early 60s, with wonderful bombshell styling (ruched sweetheart neckline, side split, inner metal boned lining to bodice).
Fastens with CB metal zip, and skirt is also fully loose lined. In very good, ready to wear condition!
Measures: I did have to clip this to show shape, too big on my UK 8. Bust should have been fuller and hips wider!
Bust 34”, plus additional room in the cups
Waist 27 - 28”max
Hips 38”
Length from shoulder to hem approx 52”
Waist to hem 37”
approximate shoulder to waist is 16”
Condition:
Very good to Excellent, appears to have been rarely worn as shown a little sign of use. I am not sure if the straps have been altered, of if they were perhaps intended to be? Buttons to straps are working, but appear to serve no purpose aside from perhaps angle of strap - hidden snaps have been sewn into place I assume for extra security!
Please note, I will always combine postage where possible and refund any overages over £1. Please ask if you’re unsure.
Postage to the US has increased recently so apologies for the high price! I send everything tracked, and will send your reference once your order has been posted - along with any refunds owed.
