1920s vintage navy grosgrain coat with Art Deco tonal lining - A/F
A lovely navy blue 1920s grosgrain coat with pleated details, and a bright blue art deco patterned jacquard lining. Fastens to the hip with a single covered button fastening. Sweet little bow trimmed pocket in the seam of the lining, edged in frills.
I have cleaned it, see below. Selling as found due to a number of small pin type holes, mainly around the sleeve heads, and some marks/ fade tk lining and inner collar. Slightly tatty. Still perfectly wearable.
Measures: shown unclipped on UK 8, ok for S/M fit
Bust 40” max if overlapped in line with fastening (no closures at bust)
Hips 42”
Length from nape to hem approx 39”
shoulder seam to seam 15.5”
underarm to cuff approx 15.5” (3/4 fit slightly flared sleeve)
Condition:
As mentioned I am selling ‘as found’. As shown ther are a number of tiny holes or picks in the fabric exterior, and there is some darker age marking around the internal collar edge. I have soaked the coat successfully without ruining it, however it did not remove all of the soil - didn’t spot treat. You could possibly repeat the process should you wish and improve on my progress!
The decorative details on the outside of the coat are still firmly stitched into place, however you could possibly redo some of the stitching if you wish them to be more secure as some seems a little more stretched than the rest. Perfectly wearable as it comes, but it isn’t perfect! Please see photos.
Please note, I will always combine postage where possible and refund any overages over £1. Please ask if you’re unsure.
Postage to the US has increased recently so apologies for the high price! I send everything tracked, and will send your reference once your order has been posted - along with any refunds owed.
