Vintage 1940s to 1950s nip waisted Agar knitted cardigan - black and pink

A very sweet black late 40s early 50s woollen cardigan in black, with pink polkadot accents and shawl collar. It’s so hard to find nice older knits that haven’t been eaten... This one hadn’t completely escaped but has been Freezer treated, cleaned and then repaired so as to look pretty presentable! Please see condition report below.

Labelled ‘Agar Knitwear -  Made in Cornwall’, it’s a lovely nip waisted shape, with a deep ribbed waistband, shawl collar, and rubbed turn back cuffs.

Measures: 

Bust 32” unstretched to 40”

Waist 20 unstretched to a comfortable 27” max

Underarm to edge of turned back cuff 17 1/2” 

Length from nape to hem approx 18.5”

Condition: 

Repaired but immediately wearable, just hand washed. 

- There are multiple single stitch repairs to the black, but luckily as it’s on black they all get lost! I’ve tried to photograph them but they’re only really noticeable internally if you run your hands over it, all small stitches and no large areas of repair as far as I can tell. Only other thing to note is that a little section to the end of the turnback cuffs is a little loose but have left as, is the other shows some restorative stitches
