A really beautifully cheery deco floral print on daffodil yellow ground, with original matching yellow capelet.

I think it’s later 20s, with a slightly handkerchief style hen and lots of asymmetric details. I couldn’t for the life of me work out which way the capelet was meant to go (wonder if it originally had a tie neck to one side, and someone at a later date has added the button and loop?) so in the end I photographed it in various ways.. it’s very much asymmetric, if you see the laid flat photo.

Same applies to dress, with seams and inserts to waist and skirt being of an asymmetric nature!

No slip, and is sheer so will require a plain one unless you’re feeling brave. No side closures, very much bias cut and slips over head.

Measures:  XS as bust must be 30” - or could open side seam and add snaps to aid access!

Bust 34”

Waist 30” at max stretch - bias cut

Hips 44” as bias stretch

Length from shoulder to hem 52” approx

The capelet is approx 13” at longest point

Condition:

When on the hanger the whole thing is slightly skewed, but it’s fine on the mannequin.

It has been beautifully finished originally, but there are some later hand done repairs to the rolled hems of neckline and capelet, which are not as skilled and just functional. You could quite re-do if you were talented in that regard, but they’re perfectly adequate to be wearable as is.

There is only one very small rub, I didn’t see any other damage.

A couple of faint age spots, hidden in the print. I haven’t tried to remove.

Please see photos of the above - otherwise it’s generally ready to wear, and remarkably sturdy for a silk chiffon!
