1920s vintage black velvet and gold lamé asymmetric evening dress
Completely wearable and a great cut, this is one of those pieces that are a pain to list as despite being very attractive it has a few minor flaws... please see all photos.
I think this has been constructed very well in the late 1920s judging by the cut and length, from a 1920s shawl and soft black vintage velvet. It has some great features - the piped seaming at the hip swag is brilliant, and the sleeves have triple darts to shape them at the elbow.
It hasn't been clipped to mannequin so could be worn loosely, but I think it would look equally good if slightly more 'fitted' at waist. Bear in mind that you will need to squeeze your bust through the waist measurement of 36" as there are currently no openings (over the head), but hips are more forgiving and not so restrictive!
Measures:
Bust 42" max including darts
Waist 36"
Hips 42"/44"
Length from shoulder to hem 41"
underarm to cuff 19"
Condition:
Some thin spots to velvet skirt when held to light, mainly near skirt hem.
Dark mark to interior neckline, I didn't notice it externally to start with but is slightly visible.
Please see all photos, i tried to show every flaw i could find!
Please note, I will always combine postage where possible and refund any overages. Please ask if you’re unsure.
