1970s ossie style crepe blouse by Looking Glass Originals
‘Looking Glass Originals’ vintage 1970s ossie inspired ‘British boutique’ era blouse. I’ve seen this labels a good few times over the years, and they’re always really good cheap and cheerful ‘interpretations’ of Ossie Clark etc. I think I did know more about them at some point!
Polyester crepe I would think, with lurex embroidery to revere collar and cuffs. Fab puffed sleeves. Easy fit with self ties below the bust.
(Belonged to a cruise ship singer in the 1970s as part of her stage wardrobe, you can just see it!)
Measures:
Bust 36
Waist 30 will tie smaller
Shoulder to hem approx 24”
Sleeve crown to turn back 23 1/2” (allows for puff)
Condition: just washed and immediately wearable, minor flaws noted below
Some very minor scattered bobbling . Three small faint marks as shown (one to shoulder, one to back below yoke, one to sleeve - these all lightened with hand wash so may be worth another go!)
A tiny pink spot at waistline hidden by ties
Pulled through two snags back to wrong side, so now unseen from front
Restitched neckline edge shoulder seam.
Some minor seam pull/stress at very backs of armscyes, only really visible if you pull on the fabric (as I was looking for marks!)
