Antique 1910s Edwardian whitework cotton lawn dress or tea gown - broderie anglaise
Elegant Edwardian lawn dress. Evidence of slight pigeon fronted bodice, straight front silhouette to skirt and gathered rear - I'm guessing around 1913/14?
Fastens with original brass hooks and eyes to rear which are secure but a little fiddly to open - you can see why a maid was required!
Pretty broderie anglaise, with high drawnwork collar /neckline. This has a few small historic repairs, so please study photos. They’re not awful but are there. Puffed sleeves with turnback cuffs are not quite full length of my mannequin.
Neck approx 12” around
bust 30” plus gathers for cup room (approx 32”)
waist 24” max
shoulder to waist 15”
nape to hem 52”
underarm to cuff end 16”
Just handwashed, it’s generally very good externally. Just the odd spot as shown. As mentioned historic small darns to neckline.
