Soft black velvet, side metal zip fastening which I think may be an addition. Make do and mend, I believe this has been a long 1930s dinner dress which has been adapted for later use. Has been shortened by hand, and potentially shoulder pads have been removed and sleeves adjusted? It still however has great party appeal!
Slight remains of cowl neck and shoulder tuck darting, gold glass bugle beaded bodice with wonderful jewel toned cabochons. Self tie belt makes it pretty flexible size wise - unclipped on UK 8 in pictures, just tied with belt.
A couple of mends and marks to velvet as shown, alterations as mentioned above.
Couple of old seam repairs. Some marking to interior cowl. Still very wearable as is - Please see pictures as I’ve shown anything I could find!
Waist 36 max (tie to fit) - side zip so access not quite so easy as back opening)
Length from nape to hem approx 40”
shoulder to waist is just about 15”, and waist to hem 27” approx
