1930s vintage lamé jacket in harlequin weave russet and gold - peach velvet lining
Great colours, I think this was certainly a 20s/30s original which has been slightly altered:
Buckle at neckline added to conceal old repair, possibly collar shape altered? Think it would previously have been a more open collar but I could be wrong.
The sleeves seem like they should have pintucks at the hem, but it may well just be that my mannequins arms are too narrow for them to puff up properly! They probably would on my own arms, and they do have some shaping to the rear. Wouldn’t be hard to adjust to fit smaller upper arms if needed.
Lined in a typically late 20s/30s peachy pink velvet.
Measures:
Bust 40” including darts
Waist 34” max if loosely fastened
Hips n/a
Length from nape to hem approx 24”
shoulder seam to seam 15 1/2”
underarm to cuff sleeve is 5”
Condition:
See above. Repair to (now inner) lapel as shown. Some tarnish where I’m pointing to front and sleeve.
Rust marks and very slight damage to velvet inside upper arms (assume wire hanger for decades..), but underarms and integrity of rest of fabric generally very good with just one other spot to the velvet.
Priced accordingly, sold as found.
