Late 1930s darkest navy gabardine coat with appliqués details
I’ve owned this for years and never even worn it.. true to form I have just found it packed away!
Strong shoulder line typically late 30s or very early 40s, self tie belt at waist , and some wonderful 3D appliqués to yoke. It’s a very very dark navy fine gabardine - taken a photo against 20s black coat to demonstrate.
It’s unlined, and has a couple of historic moth nibbles to sleeves as shown, as well as a scattering towards hem front and back. I’d intended to have it relined so they were disguised, but it’s been in a box for about fourteen years waiting.. selling as is, will require some attention before wearing.
Measures: wrap over front so laid flat using current hook - approx uk8
Bust 34 to 36”
Waist 29” but then ties in to fit, best for smaller
Hips approx 40” max
underarm to cuff approx 18”
Length from nape to hem approx 44”
shoulder to shoulder (narrow inset) 14”
Condition:
As above. Some old moth damage as mentioned (has been freezer treated previously), no lining.
Worn spot to end of one cuff needs repair. very faint camphor smell remains.
