Original hand embroidered and customised 1970s hippy denim shirt jacket
I have quite a big collection of 1970 folk art clothing stashed away that I’ve amassed over the years - an avid reader of ‘native funk and flash’! Decided I should probably start to reduce my hoard a bit, but it is hard as I do particularly love the personal feel/social history aspect of these items!
‘Huggers’ embroidered medium weight brushed denim shirt jacket with front yoke.
Features original personalisations, such as hand embroidery to rear, with exotic flowers, birds and butterfly.. and an ‘I Love London’ embroidered badge to sleeve - typical of the period.. as is the exaggerated arrow point collar!
Previous owner has also shortened the hem to turn it from shirt to jacket length. Fastens to to the front with riveted branded buttons, as are the flapped patch pockets.
Sleeve head to cuff hem length 24”
Nape to hem 25”
Generally good for such an item, with intentional alteration in length as noted above. Small hole in between 3/4 button to side, and some faint discolouration at shoulderline. Wearable as it comes.
