vintage afghan 1970s folk style midi dress ‘Asiatica Folklore’
Original 1970s dress labelled ‘Asiatica - Folklore - made in Afghanistan’ embroidered panels and contrast raw silk insets, which I think are a (historic) addition to enlarge waist.
Full sleeves and embroidered fabric cuffs also fasten with self fabric covered button and loop. Lovely burgundy floral block type print.
Half belt (which I can’t decide if I’d like to front or back - so you can see colourful insets!)
Button front, full skirt gathered onto slightly high waistband.
It’s a small but could be quite flexible size wise due to cut. Such an easy style to wear, am trying not to keep so listing immediately!
Measures:
Bust 36” but hard to gauge as cut as one piece with sleeves
Waist 30” but tie to fit smaller
Hips free
Length from nape to hem approx 48”
underarm to cuff edge approx 19”
Condition:
Good. Loose button loop has had securing stitch. Bottom button on front pocket a bit stuff so didn’t undo (shouldn’t need to). One button worn. Couple dark marks hidden in folds , have quickly hand washed but not spot treated
